Four Fresh Virtual Event Ideas

There is no doubt in anyone’s minds that virtual events are here to stay for the foreseeable future, well at least until late 2021, and even then, in-person events will not be what they were pre-pandemic. But that is a topic for another time.  While we all wait patiently for the vaccines to ‘do their thing’, we need to keep meeting, and to keep having events in the virtual space. In order to keep having events, we need to keep people interested in attending them and keep the events financially viable. We have put together a few ideas to help you do just that. 

1.  Live music has translated really well to the virtual space. Having a live act pop up in between sessions to entertain your attendees for 5 minutes or longer is a great way to keep attendance high. You could even try out other live acts such a magician, 
2. Get creative with your breaks! Mental and physical health has suffered significantly during the pandemic, so why not get people moving during the break? An active break is a great way to get people moving! Adding a 15-minute stretching session is a fun and healthy way to keep attendees engaged and actively participating in the event. 
3. Hoping to host a fundraising gala dinner in 2021? You still could, virtually of course. Guests can enjoy a meal at home during the session, a meal that perhaps has been delivered by you. If not the whole meal, then a treat or a nice bottle of wine to be enjoyed during the event. You can still host the fun activities you would have had at the in-person gala dinner, such as raffles. 
4. Gamify networking to encourage attendees to interact. Gamification is such a great way to keep attendees engaged and can be used to help attendees who want to network. Using gamification your attendees earn points for every networking session or one-to-one meeting they have. This is also a great way to help keep events financially viable – networking can help make and close deals.
